ABOUT ME

My Greatest Accomplishment

Whenever someone asks me what my greatest accomplishment is or what is an issue that I have faced and overcome, one thing comes to mind. This problem was one that I faced for years; from the time I spoke my first words, until I was nine or ten years old. It plagued me. I fought it. I gave up. I fought it some more. There were times I swore as a seven-year-old that I would have to deal with it my entire life. There were times I came so close to beating it then fell back into the bad habits. My problem was my speech. I could not speak plainly at all, or hold a conversation with another person.
Look at me now! Back then, I could barely hold one-on-one conversations, now I lector at mass and announce the Homecoming Court every year at my high school to hundreds of people. I have my own radio show now, The Bruin Buzz Live, where I interview another person, face to face, for thirty-minutes. I would have never dreamed that I could do that back then, but the show airs every week on Mississippi Catholic Radio. I am the Voice of the Bruins at Saint Joseph, meaning I give play-by-play for the varsity football games on the radio. My greatest accomplishment to date is still on-going. I got over my nervousness and overcame the speech issues I struggled with. I solved my problem, or rather, I overcame it. Through hard work, determination, and the will of my parents, I solved my problem. I prefer to say I beat it, and I now use my voice to inspire others.
